After more than three decades in eye care, Dr. Salvatore DeCanio is bringing a distinctive vision to the Lake Worth community: expert eye care and wellness services delivered in an inviting, spa-like environment.
Tell us a little about yourself and your journey.
I’m a South Florida native who grew up in Boynton Beach and graduated from Atlantic High School in Delray Beach. After earning my bachelor’s degree in biology from Wake Forest University, I spent a year conducting heart disease research at its medical school.
I then earned my Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry and completed an elective residency in hospital-based optometry and ocular disease at the VA Medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
For more than 30 years, I’ve held leadership roles in private and corporate eye care practices, including four years as executive director of TLC Laser Eye Centers in Boca Raton. My latest chapter is Choice Vision Care & Wellness—a unique eye care and wellness facility serving the Greater Lake Worth community.
What does Choice Vision Care & Wellness offer?
We provide comprehensive vision and eye health care, along with an on-site optical boutique. Our wellness services include medical-grade whole-body red light therapy, in-depth massage therapy, natural skin care products, HydraFacials, chemical peels and microneedling.
What inspired you to create this business?
I wanted to create an exceptional eye care experience—one that people would genuinely remember. By combining advanced care with a comfortable, spa-like atmosphere, we can support our patients’ vision, wellness and overall quality of life in a truly different way.

Why did you choose this community?
We are located at 8475 Lake Worth Road, Suite 200, near the northeast corner of Blanchette Trail and Lake Worth Road. I chose this location because Greater Lake Worth is a growing community, and I’m excited to build lasting relationships with the people who live here.
